After the purchase: moving in, furnishing or renting out in Hurghada

After buying an apartment in Hurghada, the next phase begins: furnishing, air-conditioning, internet, cleaning, management and rental must be planned properly.

The purchase contract is signed, payment is completed and the keys are there. Many buyers think the hardest part is over. Often, however, the next phase begins: the apartment has to become usable.

Many apartments in Hurghada are sold unfurnished or only partly furnished. You may need not only furniture, but also air-conditioning, lighting, curtains, kitchen appliances, water heater, washing machine, storage and internet.

If you want to use the apartment yourself, the furniture can be more personal and higher quality. If you want to rent it out, furniture should be durable, easy to clean and easy to replace. Light fabric sofas look good, but they are not always practical for holiday rental.

For rental, looks are not enough. The apartment has to function: reliable Wi-Fi, good lighting, air-conditioning, clean bed linen, a simple kitchen, clear instructions and fast help when something breaks.

Before the first rental, clarify who handles check-in and check-out, who cleans, who organizes linen and towels, who deals with repairs, who answers guest questions and which platforms should be used.

Good photos are essential. Guests decide online within seconds. Show balcony, view, pool, beach proximity, workspace, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and building honestly and in good quality.

Anyone renting should also check compound rules, tax questions and local requirements. Some buildings have their own rental rules. These topics should be clarified before the first guest.
